Location

     Located at the intersection of Airport Parkway/Brokaw Road and
     Highway 101, the hotel is in the heart of the Silicon Valley and
     less than a half-mile from San Jose International Airport, 45
     minutes from San Francisco International Airport, and only one
     hour south of San Francisco and north of Monterey and Carmel.
     Centrally located in the heart of Silicon Valley. Hotel is
     adjacent the 101, 87, 280 and 880 Freeways.

Accommodation

     A limited number of hotel rooms at the Doubletree Hotel San Jose
     are available at specially negotiated Open Group rates, on a
     "first-served" basis.  To take advantage of these special rates,
     please provide your requirements via the on-line registration
     form.

     Single Occupancy per night     US$189 + sales tax (currently 10%)

     Double Occupancy per night    US$189 + sales tax (currently 10%)

     The room rate does not include breakfast.  A light Continental
     Breakfast will be provided by The Open Group at the venue for the
     mornings of the conference.  This service is available for
     Conference participants staying at the Doubletree Hotel.

     The hotel requires all reservations be guaranteed by major credit
     card.  (The on-line registration form is on a secure server to
     accept credit card information.)  You will automatically be
     guaranteed late arrival, i.e. after 6:00 pm (18:00).  Hotel guests
     who do not cancel their reservations or fail to check-in will be
     charged one night's room rate.

Room Reservation Deadline

     Room reservation requests at the special rate must be received by
     The Open Group by close-of-business on Friday, January 12th,
     2001.  (The Registration Form will indicate if the room block is
     filled prior to this date.)

Reservation Confirmation, Changes & Cancellations

     Changes: Confirmation numbers for room reservations received by
     January 12th will be provided via email within seven working
     days.  After receiving this information, if you wish to change
     your reservation, please contact the Doubletree Hotel San Jose
     directly.
     Cancellations: Up to and including January 12th , please contact
     The Open Group to cancel your room reservation.  After January
     12th , please contact the hotel directly.  Cancellations must be
     advised to the hotel 72 hours in advance of the arrival day.

BY AIR

     FROM SAN JOSE AIRPORT:
     The Doubletree Hotel San Jose is within 1 mile of the airport.
     The hotel offers complimentary transportation to the San Jose
     International Airport during Airport Hours.
     If renting a car use Airport Exit east and turn north on Skyport
     Dr. Turn left onto Guadalupe Pky, CA-87 and travel north west for
     0.4 miles. Turn right onto Airport Pky.

     FROM SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:
     San Francisco Airport is about 33 miles (45 minutes by road) from
     The Doubletree Hotel San Jose.
     The taxi fare is approx. US$ 90.
     The most economical way of traveling between airports is the South
     Bay Flyer at a cost of US$ 19 (phone 1 888 463 5937 for schedule
     info).
     If renting a car, use Airport Exit and follow the signs to US-101
     S to San Jose. Continue on US-101, Bayshore Fwy. southeast for 31
     miles. Bear right on ramp at sign reading CA-87 Guadalope Pkwy.
     After 0.3 miles bear right on Guadalope Pky., CA-87 and after a
     further 0.3 miles turn left onto Airport Pky. until you reach the
     hotel.

BY ROAD

     The Doubletree Hotel San Jose is on Airport Pky.  Turn onto
     Airport Pky from Guadalope Pkwy. CA-87 (see directions from
     airports above).
